Senior Account Executive

Supervises day-to-day efforts on assigned accounts and is responsible for supporting and developing the strategic direction of brand(s). Serves as a liaison between clients and agency departments and is directly responsible for managing profitability of accounts. Ensures agency provides highest quality service/product and oversees workflow to ensure timely completion within budgets. Assists with account team training and growth as directed by the VP of Brand Leadership.


  • Responsible for all technical and creative requirements of projects assigned
  • Develops positive relationships with client to ensure organic growth and continued development of the account
  • Provides strategic and marketing guidance and leadership to client and agency team
  • Develops deep understanding of client’s business/industry and shares with team
  • Proactively monitors new product/business opportunities and provides client with recommendations on business building, market research and competitive activities
  • Leads the development of innovative communications plans
  • Functions as team leader to communicate client’s needs, provide appropriate direction, oversee quality of final output and ensure teamwork is smooth and effective
  • Issues accurate and timely work orders, estimates, change orders and budget updates
  • Manages account profitability, generates financial reports and monitors hours/budget
  • Initiates job start, job opening meeting, overall project direction, timing and budget, job closing and final billing
  • Guides, instructs and focuses client expectancies to ensure realistic day-to-day expectations and deliverables are met
  • Aids VP of Brand Leadership in development/training of account staff, as needed
  • Responsible for thought leadership content for current account assignments


  • College degree in marketing, advertising, communications or related field preferred
  • 7+ years progressive experience in account or marketing management
  • Extensive experience in the health care/pharmaceutical industry
  • Proven ability to serve as marketing communications counsel to assigned clients, including proactively writing and presenting marketing recommendations
  • Experience in revenue forecasting, billing processes and budget/estimate development
  • Ability to lead agency team, articulate strategic marketing concepts
  • Superior abilities in organization, taking initiative, following up and attention to detail
  • Excellent leadership, marketing, written, verbal and interpersonal skills
  • Sound judgment to problem-solve and take corrective action
  • Expertise to lead senior-level client interaction and participate in client-related activities
  • Ability to give and accept direction and work well in a team environment
