Search Manager

Hart is looking for a data-driven search manager to lead planning, research, optimization and reporting for client paid search campaigns, keep up with trends and changes in the search space, and create & deliver SEO recommendations.

The ideal candidate is a team player, able to support multiple accounts and act as a consultant for new business pitches. They have a strong search foundation, understanding both the strategic and functional aspects of Paid Search and SEO.

Responsibilities

  • PAID SEARCH / SEM
  • Own SEM campaign strategy, including keyword research, campaign & ad group structure, keywords, budget, and bid strategies
  • Develop bid optimization processes and deliver benchmarks/performance forecasts
  • Proactively recommend, execute and measure Paid Search campaign optimizations, including strategy & implementation of tactical recommendations
  • Understand & implement tracking and measurements on campaigns to effectively measure & report on campaign performance such as creating conversions in Google Ads, Google Analytics, UTM parameters and placing in Google Tag Manager
  • Develop ad copy based on competitive research, industry best practices and brand standards
  • Implement ongoing testing to improve campaigns with methodologies like A/B testing & multivariate testing on ad copy and landing pages
  • Consult on landing page conversion strategy and implementation and advising clients on landing page changes to improve performance
  • Review performance trends in paid search accounts and develop insights and recommend changes based on data driven analysis
  • Compile reports or advise on dashboard reports as needed to deliver campaign metrics to clients
  • Leverage cross channel data to deliver optimization recommendations that will improve performance of primary client KPIs
  • Responsible for budget tracking, budget optimizations and billing management in order to meet but never exceed approved budgets
  • Manage & optimize major platforms like Google Ads & Microsoft Ads while recommending new platforms, betas or opportunities available in these engines
  • ORGANIC SEARCH OPTIMIZATION / TECHNICAL SEO
  • Research & recommend SEO keywords to use throughout clients’ websites and other digital marketing materials
  • Work with content and marketing teams to design and implement content marketing strategies based on keyword research & client priorities
  • Deliver recommendations to developers to ensure the website conforms to usability and mobility standards.
  • Perform technical site audits and communicate website, server & back-end errors to development team
  • Deliver recommendations to improve website speed on desktop, tablet and mobile devices
  • Execute link building and link profile management activities including opening accounts, outreach, relationship building, link acquisitions, press releases, etc.
  • Understand & optimize core Google SEO tools including Search Console & Google My Business
  • Deliver social media recommendations (including hashtags, mentions, content, etc) to improve organic visibility
  • Conversion Rate Optimization: optimize landing pages to improve conversion rates & other client-provided KPIs
  • Make core technical SEO recommendations like title, meta tags, schema, alt attributes, etc

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising or relevant work experience
  • 3-5 years of search experience, spanning both Paid Search and SEO
  • Agency experience preferred
  • Significant Microsoft Excel skills with an understanding of pivot tables and vlookups
  • Experience with Tableau or similar data analytics platform a plus
  • Solid understanding of tracking, optimization and reporting tools available for use in paid search
  • Strong grounding in campaign strategy and ability to articulate insights and answer questions from clients
  • Understanding of search engine algorithms and ranking methods
  • Experience with SEM & SEO industry programs such as Google Ads research tools, SEMRush, MOZ, and/or AhRefs
  • Reporting & analytics proficiency in major platforms like Google Analytics, Google Data Studio & Tag Manager
  • Knowledge of keyword research and data mining tools
  • Comfortable analyzing high volumes of data on a daily basis
  • Strong analytical skills and experience generating SEO reports
  • Familiarity with A/B and multivariate experiments
