Interactive: La-Z-Boy Incorporated
La-Z-Boy has sat right at the top of our digital client roster for years. Projects have included the company’s main consumer website as well as sites for its Furniture Galleries® stores and La-Z-Boy Kidz™ franchise. Hart Associates also worked on the Furniture Galleries Excellence program website, which helps monitor performance metrics for all La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries retailers and provides a training course portal.
So when La-Z-Boy asked us to help build a new interactive experience to revitalize la-z-boy.com – not comfortable resting on our laurels – we were eager to meet the challenge.
In keeping with the brand’s focus on comfort, it was apparent to us that if we were going to turn virtual showroom shoppers into buyers, the ease of navigating the site would have to be as comfortable for them as operating a La-Z-Boy recliner.
The site was launched at the end of 2009, complete with a comfort library stocked with reference catalogs and personal stories from consumers to help inspire creativity – plus a new look designed to help users easily search and purchase products online or through stores/dealers.
In addition to the overall planning and development – site architecture, user-experience strategy and design and improved maintenance implementation – our digital team also integrated numerous other third-party enhancements, such as an e-commerce platform, room planner software, survey information and Google-based store locators.
